Potassium is essential for proper muscular movement and the deficiency of this mineral in body can cause fatigue, weakness, leg cramps and problem with the heart. So, it is recommended to take potassium rich diet such as orange and banana for the patient who take diuretic medicines.

Angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors -:Angiotensin converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors

These are the mediations that inhibit the activity of enzymes ACE which are helpful in controlling blood pressure. Angiotensin is a very potent chemical formed in the blood that causes the muscles surrounding the blood vessels to contract, thus narrowing the blood vessels and increasing the blood pressure. ACE inhibitors are the medicines which decrease the activity of angiotensin enzymes. Examples of ACE inhibitors medicines include Ramipril, benazepril, enalapril, moexipril and captopril.  However, ACE inhibitors include some side effects such as skin rash, loss of taste, chronic dry, hacking cough and sometimes kidney damage.

Angiotensin receptor blockers (ARBs) – :Angiotensin receptor blockers

This medicine blocks the action of angiotensin. As a result blood vessels enlarge and blood pressure is reduced. Reduced blood pressure helps the heart to pump the blood and can improve heart problem. They have the similar effects to ACE inhibitors, but ARB acts by blocking the formation of angiotensin rather to prevent them as ACE does. Some common ARBs drugs include valsartan, losartan, irbesartan and eprosartan. The common side effect of ARBs include occasional dizziness and should not be used at pregnancy.

Calcium channel blockers -:

Calcium increases the force and strength of the contraction in the heart and blood vessels. Calcium channel blockers lower blood pressure by relaxing the blood vessels and reducing heart rate. They also inhibit the movement of calcium in muscles cells. The reduction in calcium reduces the force of the heart’s muscular pumping action and thereby reduces blood pressure. Some common calcium channel brokers include amlodipine, clevidipine, felodipine, nimodipine and nicardipine. If you are using these drugs you may experience some side effects too such as headache, dizziness, swollen ankles and constipation.Calcium channel blockers
